We have a grape thief! He is Mr. Possum! What a nasty creature he is! In two nights he and his family have consumed about half our crop! At first, we thought it was birds, but those poor guys were just taking advantage of the hole Mr. Possum had made. A couple of rolls of wire seemed to be enough to keep him out, but putting it up was no small thing. Stanley buried the bottom of the wire with logs, rocks and a ton of dirt.The grapes that he left look beautiful. We harvested the few white grapes that Mr. Possum left for us. Our latest home improvement project was the completion of the kitchen cabinets. They are not anything like cabinets that I’ve been associated with before, but they look fine and they are substantial enough to keep the dust off what goes inside.
