A Turkish Breakfast

Before I leave Istanbul, I have to comment about breakfast. I love breakfast. I wouldn't say it's my favorite meal, but it comes in at a close second. I've been lucky enough to find some good breakfast buffets in the various hotels we've stayed in over the years, and I'm always disappointed when the meal is served without imagination and variety.

I look forward to finding many more delicious breakfast treats in the future, but for now top prize in this department goes to the Romantic Hotel in Istanbul. I think this is a story told best in pictures.

As I look at the pictures, I realize I didn't get the bread basket. What a shame. It was overflowing with an unbelievable assortment of breads both sweet and savory. And the coffee . . . .oh, my! And the yogurt was the best I have ever had!

I don't know if all Turkish hotels serve this kind of breakfast, but our attendant didn't see anything unusual about it. It's almost enough to send me back.
