AUGUST 5

 Up early and gone. We had a long day of driving ahead. We had a filling breakfast before we left the hotel and didn’t stop except for bathroom/walk breaks and gas. Not even for Pompey’s Pillar, a National Monument from the Lewis and Clark Expedition. 

I took a lot of photos as we drove along. None of them very good, but memories all the same. Enjoy!

We drove just a little less than 500 miles today - an all time record for us. Yes, it would have been nice to stop and examine every rock along the way, but we have people to see and they are far more important than rocks. 

We are safely bedded down tonight in The Historic Olive Hotel in Miles City MT. At least I hope we are safe. I’ve heard the place is haunted and I think it’s quite possible. I’ll let you know how we fare tomorrow. At least that’s my plan.
