Seeing the Everglades in January must be a
very different experience than one would
have in spring or summer.
For starters, many of the plants are either
dormant or leafless.
The brochures I saw featured
fabulous blooms that dominate
the landscape, but those beauties
are almost totally absent in January.
Somehow, that made the tiny flashes of
color we saw all the more special.
