KEY WEST BOTANICAL GARDEN

We were not so impressed with the Botanical Garden.
Thinking it would be a great way to finish our trip,
we had saved it for the very last, but we
found little to amuse, inform, or distract us.
One notable exception was the collection of
small boats tucked away in a corner of the garden.
These are actual boats created by Cuban refugees as transportation to Florida.
Using a wide variety of materials, an incredible amount of nerve,
and a passionate desire to be in America, these chugs
are monuments to the will and spirit of immigrants.

There were also a few pieces of interesting art, a fine collection of palm trees,
lots of birds, and of course Key West Chickens!
