AUDABON HOUSE

We loved the Audabon House.
The guide was a terrific story teller
and it was obvious that he loved his job.

Aside from the house itself, which was beautifully restored and furnished,
the gardens were fabulous.
One of the most interesting plants we found was
the ghost orchid.
If you don't know about this plant,
suggested reading would have to include
The Orchid Thief by Susan Orlean.

The Audoban paintings displayed in the house were spectaculor . . . of course!
