Pouring down rain. Pouring! That’s the way the day started. Not so bad for us, but miserable for the folks who were gathering in the next block for the big Bear Paw Parade.
We had to drive for miles to get around all the closed roads, but eventually we got on the road to Anchorage and the ATT store.
A nice young man helped us replace our defunct hotspot which worked perfectly in the store but not so well later . . . I’m getting ahead of my self.
We stopped for gas. 40.6 mpg at latest report. Not too shabby!
Off we went in the rain to Soldotna. Even with all the nasty weather, the scenery was beautiful in an eerie kind of way.
We arrived in Soldotna, checked into the Soldotna Inn and rested up a bit for the main attraction of the day: dinner with Judy Cox.
What memories! From 1980 in Noorvik to present day! If you are ever in need of a true friend in Alaska, look her up. She is the best!!!!!
Special treat: During dinner Judy called Mary, the third side of our Noorvik triangle, and we had a group Face Time chat. Mary is just as precious and positive as ever.
