JULY 14

Just look at that sky! A sky that clear on the road to Homer is practically unheard of.

I took a lot of photos of Mt. Iliamna. She was beautiful today - all dressed in her bridal white, floating  in the clouds.

And a few of the glaciers.

We can’t forget the flowers.

We got all checked in at Lands End . What a place! We are in Room 206, one of the original rooms. Check it out.

We took our sandwiches to the deck and enjoyed the bright sunshine. I’m glad we did because by 3:30 the sky was a mass of clouds from one horizon to the other.

The mountains are gorgeous. The water is pristine. The sea air makes everything taste better. The staff is all you could ask for. It’s easy to see how this place has become so famous, why is stays filled almost year round, and why it’s so spendy. Alas, we are only staying one night.

Making the most of our time, Judy joined us for dinner in the Chart Room Bar. Halibut was the star of all three plates. Delicious!

Time with friends is always precious, but time with old friends, going through old memories, telling stories - PRICELESS!
